Stay home if waiting for test result

If you have been tested for COVID-19, you must self-isolate at home while waiting for the result.

You cannot leave your house, come to the College or go out in public if you are waiting for your test result. You may have to wait several days to receive your result. In the meantime, you must be patient and wait at home.


New mask guidelines issued today

The Public Health Agency of Canada is now recommending Canadians choose three-layer non-medical masks with a filter layer to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as they prepare to spend more time indoors over the winter.

COVID plan updated with new charts

Dawson's COVID plan has been updated with two new flow charts. The charts cover accessing the College and what to if you develop symptoms. T

Essential updates to keep everyone healthy

If Public Health calls you, please answer the phone. This is critical for containing the spread of COVID-19. More info here.

You must self-isolate at home if you are awaiting test results. Everyone must self-isolate while waiting for a COVID-19 test result and then follow the instructions given to them at the time of their results from a person of the Public Health Department. More info here.

Wear a mask indoors and outdoors when you cannot maintain a 2-metre distance. The rule about masks also applies to when you are outdoors. More info here.

Download the new COVID app to help flatten the curve

Our College nurses encourage everyone to download the COVID Alert app. Launched in Quebec on Monday, it is available for free on the App Store or on Google Play.

The app is useful because it:

  • notifies you if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19;
  • refers you to the relevant information concerning the steps to follow after you receive the exposure notification;
  • informs other app users when they have been close to a person who has reported testing positive to COVID-19 through the app, anonymously and without sharing personal information.

The app does not

  • access, collect or archive your  or information on your health status;
  • use the GPS on your device and cannot determine your location or any other personal information.

COVID plan and important updates available online

Dawson's COVID plan is now available online. Posted in the new Campus Access & Essential Info section of the website, it consists of a document and two flow charts:

  1. Accessing or returning to college site
  2. Students or employees experiencing COVID-like symptoms

The flow charts are working files. Graphic work will be done soon to make them easier to use.

Dawson health and well-being videos for students
