Have you or are you about to complete an Independent Study Comprehensive Examination or some other independent project? Would you like to give a talk, present a poster or demonstrate a project from this academic year? Maybe you want to get involved in some other capacity?\u00a0We are presently looking for presenters and student volunteers to help make this year&#8217;s ScienceFest a grand success.<\/p>\n<h4>Presenters<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Due to Covid-19, all presentations will be given in a virtual environment.\u00a0<\/strong>Options and detailed instruction will be provided based on available technology to the students.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oral presentations will be given using the Zoom platform.<\/li>\n<li>Poster presenters will be given the opportunity to present via Zoom in addition to uploading their posters for asynchronous presentation on the ScienceFest website.<\/li>\n<li>Projects demonstrations can be presented live via Zoom and\/or asynchronously using video or other digital media accessible from the ScienceFest website.There will be prizes awarded in a variety of categories including:<\/li>\n<li>Oral presentation<\/li>\n<li>Poster presentation<\/li>\n<li>Project demonstration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Register <a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/science-fest\/conference-registration\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/science-fest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/152\/ScienceFest-2017-Booklet-FINAL.pdf\">ScienceFest 2017 Conference Booklet<\/a>\u00a0Check out the student talks, posters and demo presentations from last year.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a faculty member who has been involved with program activities or as a supervisor\/mentor to student projects, we encourage you to inform your students of the opportunity to share their work.<\/p>\n<h4>ScienceFest Photography Competition<\/h4>\n<p>Again this year for ScienceFest!\u00a0Inspired by the SPACE theme of\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/space.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/theme\/current\/technique\">Technique<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0students in all programs are invited to participate in the 2nd annual ScienceFest Photography Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Last year&#8217;s Jury Prize was awarded to Celeste Groulx for \u201cspilling colors\u201d.\u00a0 The picture was highly rated for its aesthetics,\u00a0 scientific value and communication.<\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-309\" src=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/science-fest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/152\/Groulx_spilling-colours_web.png\" alt=\"Groulx_spilling-colours_web\" width=\"365\" height=\"264\" \/>\n<p>Who will be the winner this year?!
