{"id":55,"date":"2014-08-25T17:24:53","date_gmt":"2014-08-25T17:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research-ethics-review\/?page_id=55"},"modified":"2021-08-04T16:57:28","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T20:57:28","slug":"main","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research-ethics-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Main"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dawson College Research Ethics Board is an autonomous body that is mandated by Dawson College\u2019s Board of Governors to review the ethical acceptability of research involving humans and supports researchers to maintain the highest ethical conduct by ensuring that the ethical guidelines of the <a href=\"http:\/\/pre.ethics.gc.ca\/eng\/policy-politique_tcps2-eptc2_2018.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research-ethics-board\/policies-procedures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dawson College Policy on the Ethical Conduct of Research Involving Humans<\/a> are respected.<\/p>\n<p>Research ethics review is required for:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Dawson researchers and researchers from other institutions who wish to conduct research activities at Dawson College or recruit human participants at Dawson College,<\/li>\n<li>Dawson researchers under the auspices of Dawson College, who wish to conduct research with human participants external to the College.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Meeting Schedule<\/h2>\n<table style=\"height: 205px\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 41px\">\n<td style=\"width: 246px;height: 41px\"><strong>Full Board Meeting<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 287px;height: 41px\"><strong>Submission Deadline<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 41px\">\n<td style=\"width: 246px;height: 41px\">\n<p>October 21, 2020<\/p>\n<p>November 11, 2020<\/p>\n<p>December 9, 2020<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 287px;height: 41px\">\n<p>October 2, 2020 at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>October 23, 2020 at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>November 20, 2020 at 5 p.m.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2>Submitting Applications<\/h2>\n<p>Applications are accepting on a <strong>rolling basis<\/strong>. The submission deadlines refer to studies that require Full Board review.<\/p>\n<p>Low to minimal risk studies will be reviewed through the delegated ethics review process. REB members are given 10 business days to complete their delegated reviews. The REB Office will issue a review letter to the researcher 3 &#8211; 5 business days after receiving the delegated review(s).<\/p>\n<p>Studies that are deemed higher than minimal risk during the preliminary review process will be reviewed at the next Full Board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In order to avoid unnecessary delays, please ensure that complete applications are submitted to the REB Office.<\/p>\n<p>See the <a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research-ethics-board\/application-process\/\">Application Process &amp;
