{"id":5,"date":"2014-04-15T18:32:08","date_gmt":"2014-04-15T22:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/radiation-oncology\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2021-08-04T16:53:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T20:53:34","slug":"admissions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/radiation-oncology\/admissions\/","title":{"rendered":"Admission Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>DAWSON COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS<\/h2>\n<p>For admission to all CEGEP programs, every student must have the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (DES) or the equivalent.<\/p>\n<h3>Specific ministerial admission requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Sec V Mathematics &#8211; Technical &amp; Scientific option or Science option 564-506 or 565-506 or Mathematics 526<\/li>\n<li>Sec IV Environmental Science &amp; Technology or Environmental Science 558-404 or 558-402 or Physical Science 436<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>An interview is required to assess the candidate\u2019s readiness to pursue studies in Radiation Oncology Technology<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must be eligible to take College English 603-101 \/ testing may be required<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must be eligible to take Basic French 602-100 \/ testing may be required<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who were not selected for admission may reapply.\u00a0 \u00a0After three unsuccessful attempts, candidates will be considered for another interview only after all other applicants have been considered and space remains available in the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Profession Assessment<\/h3>\n<p>To ensure that you fully understand the nature of the profession, it is highly recommended that you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>visit\u00a0one (or both)\u00a0of our affiliated\u00a0cancer clinics.<\/li>\n<li>volunteer for activities related to cancer treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may arrange to visit a cancer clinic by filling out the following form and sending it as an email attachment to the clinical instructor(s)\u00a0listed on the form.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/radiation-oncology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/142c0_visit_clinics_form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visit Request Form<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If, following the visit you decide to continue in this profession, you may offer your services as a volunteer to an organization such as\u00a0listed in the link below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/public\/programs\/smse\/radiation_oncology\/radiation_oncology_142c0_volunteer.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Suggested Volunteer Organizations<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Application Deadline<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>March 1 (for Fall semester)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program begins in the Fall semester; new students are not admitted into the program in the Winter term.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/registrar\/academic-standing\/graduation-requirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graduation Requirements*<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>To obtain a <strong><em><u>D<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>ipl\u00f4me d\u2019<strong><u>\u00e9<\/u><\/strong>tudes <strong><u>c<\/u><\/strong>oll\u00e9giales<\/em> (D.E.C.) students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successfully complete the General Education, Complementary and Specific Education Courses<\/li>\n<li>Pass the English Exit Test<\/li>\n<li>Pass the Comprehensive Examination<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate appropriate standards of Professional Conduct<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>*Students who do not have a clear criminal record check at the beginning of the clinical component of the Program will not be able to complete the clinical component and will therefore not be able to graduate.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAWSON COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS For admission to all CEGEP programs, every student must have the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (DES) or the equivalent.
