The focus of the course will be to develop the student&rsquo;s understanding of the expressive and communicative ability of the body. Exercises and explorations in the study of the movement elements of balance, space, time, will focus on developing body and spatial awareness as well as begin to physically condition the body for performance. (1.5 hours\/week) Dance: Students will develop an understanding of space, energy, tempo and intensity. (1.5 hours\/week) Sword Fighting: Focusing on the fundamental skills of generic sword techniques, this course will include basic fight choreographies, an introduction to sword fighting terminology for the theatre as well as a brief look at the history of the evolution of the sword.
