padding: 0 10px; display:inline-block; vertical-align:top;\">Version en Fran\u00e7ais<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Dawson College teachers Selma Hamdani and Yann Brouillette share their experience with the innovative pedagogy of active learning and the peer support of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/active-learning\/dawson-active-learning-community-dalc\/\">Dawson Active Learning Community<\/a> (DALC) in a new video requested by the Minist\u00e8re de l&#8217;\u00c9ducation et de l&#8217;Enseignement sup\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n<p>The video was produced as a knowledge sharing initiative to benefit CEGEP teachers, pedagogical counsellors and administrators across Quebec.<\/p>\n<p>The DALC video was presented during a Feb. 20 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.education.gouv.qc.ca\/dossiers-thematiques\/plan-daction-numerique\/formations\/reseau-collegial\/\">webinar<\/a> organized by the Ministry about implementing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.education.gouv.qc.ca\/dossiers-thematiques\/plan-daction-numerique\/plan-daction-numerique\/\">Plan d\u2019action num\u00e9rique<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ministry recognized the enormous pedagogical potential in sharing DALC with the CEGEP network,\u201d said Chris Whittaker, co-coordinator of DALC. \u201cWe are hopeful that teachers will see that it is worthwhile to explore the use of new technology and pedagogy in the classroom, and that it is possible with the support of fellow teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The concept of teachers supporting teachers through communities of practice is well established at Dawson College. Today, there are eight communities of practice supported by the College\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/faculty-hub\/\">Faculty Hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>About a decade ago, Dawson College created its first active learning classrooms.
