The two teams were tied 1-1 after regulation and still tied after two white knuckle fifteen minute overtime halves. Dawson finally prevailed by scoring on all 5 of their penalty kicks while FX Garneau scored 4. <\/p>\n<p>The Blues finished 6th during the regular season securing the last playoff spot, then beat 3rd place Vanier last Tuesday 5-1 to qualify for a spot at the Provincials. Saturday they defeated 2nd place Champlain St. Lambert 3-2 and Sunday defeated 1st place FX Garneau 2-1 in penalty kicks. <\/p>\n<p>The Soccer Blues next challenge will be competing for the CCAA National Championship November 6th &#8211; 9th at the University of New Brunswick.<\/p>\n<p>The Division 1 Women&#8217;s Soccer Team also completed a successful season with a Top 4 finish at the Provincials.<\/p>\n<p>Congrats to both teams!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 435px; height: 324px;\" name=\"ID3Path\" src=\"\/public\/info_desk\/dawson_news\/d1_soccer_-_men_-_provincial_champs_2013.jpeg\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dawson Blues Division 1 Men&#8217;s Soccer team captured the Provincial Championship this past Sunday by beating the perennial soccer champs, FX Garneau.
