{"id":4299,"date":"2020-04-21T10:39:19","date_gmt":"2020-04-21T14:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/news\/?post_type=digest&#038;p=4299"},"modified":"2020-04-21T10:39:19","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T14:39:19","slug":"virtual-earth-week-at-dawson","status":"publish","type":"digest","link":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/news\/dnews\/virtual-earth-week-at-dawson\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Earth Week at Dawson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow (April 22) is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which is usually celebrated in a big way at Dawson College with a week-long program of events.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Earth Week is going virtual at Dawson and all over the world:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Virtual presentation by yogipreneur Bhaskar Goswami (pictured) on Wednesday, April 22 via <a href=\"https:\/\/us04web.zoom.us\/j\/9880352834\">ZOOM meeting<\/a> from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: 40-minute presentation followed by 40 minutes of chair yoga.<\/li>\n<li>Alveole is coming to open the beehives on the 4H rooftop Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>A great way to promote sustainability is to continue making an effort during the pandemic to support local, small, ethical and sustainable businesses, which is what Dawson is highlighting this year.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/121479001240144\/videos\/840780029758245\/\">Watch this new 2-minute Earth week promo video<\/a>\u00a0produced by the Sustainability team<\/li>\n<li>Eco-Friendly vendors normally in the lower atrium will be promoted on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Sustainable-Dawson-121479001240144\/\">Sustainable Dawson Facebook page<\/a> with links to their virtual stores (e.g. handmade soap, local honey, thrift shop clothing stores, upcycled and recycled jewellery, succulent plants, e-bikes, Bixi)<\/li>\n<li>Foodie Fest vendors normally in Conrod&#8217;s where the Dawson community can sample their products will be promoted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Sustainable-Dawson-121479001240144\/\">Sustainable Dawson Facebook page<\/a> with links to their virtual stores (e.g. food delivery services, food wrap companies, cricket based foods, plant based meats, Nutritower, organic popcorn, kombucha).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow (April 22) is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which is usually celebrated in a big way at Dawson College with a week-long program of events.
