If so, join our discussion groups on Friday, Feb. 28 or Thursday, March 6. We will be formulating a response to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada&#8217;s consultation on their proposals for ensuring appropriate regulation of AI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">&#8220;The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) is currently engaged in legislative reform policy analysis of both federal privacy laws. We are examining artificial intelligence (AI) as a subset of this work as it relates specifically to the\u00a0Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act\u00a0(PIPEDA). <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;color: black\">&#8220;We are of the view that\u00a0PIPEDA\u00a0falls short in its application to\u00a0AI\u00a0systems and we have identified several areas where\u00a0PIPEDA\u00a0could be enhanced.
