{"id":2724,"date":"2020-01-21T10:09:56","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T15:09:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/news\/?post_type=digest&#038;p=2724"},"modified":"2020-01-21T10:09:56","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T15:09:56","slug":"faculty-hub-website-is-live","status":"publish","type":"digest","link":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/news\/dnews\/faculty-hub-website-is-live\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Hub website is live"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Faculty Hub is part of a plan to re-imagine faculty professional development at Dawson.\u00a0 It unites Communities of Practice, the Office of Academic Development, Human Resources and Information Systems and Technology to promote evidence-based pedagogical practices that engage students and help to develop the <a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/strategic-plan\/the-dawson-graduate-profile\/\">Dawson Graduate Profile outcomes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would like to express my appreciation to Julia Lijer\u00f3n of the Office of Academic Development (OAD) and her team &#8211;\u00a0 Einat Idan (OAD), Azra Khan (HR), Rafael Scapin (IST) and Anne Piggott (OAD) &#8211; for their vision, sustained efforts and dedication to the planning and development of the Hub,&#8221; Academic Dean Diane Gauvin wrote in an email to staff on Jan. 16. &#8220;Under Julia\u2019s leadership, and with the collaboration of faculty, the Hub is now a key resource for faculty professional development.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Feedback from consultations with faculty and academic administrators yielded a number of themes of interest and importance. The workshops offered by the Faculty Hub are generally associated with one of the following series:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learning to Learn<\/li>\n<li>Learning Technologies<\/li>\n<li>Foundations of College Teaching<\/li>\n<li>Assessment<\/li>\n<li>Student-centred Teaching<\/li>\n<li>New Faculty Integration<\/li>\n<li>Special Topics\u2026 such as experiential Learning, e-portfolios, Living Campus, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Are you interested in connecting with a community of practice or professional development opportunities? Need resources and support? Looking for inspiration?<\/p>\n<p>The Faculty Hub website is now available:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/faculty-hub\/\">https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/faculty-hub\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to contribute to the site with your news and suggestions for professional development opportunities. New resources and workshops will be added on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>Your feedback about the site is welcome!
