{"id":1204,"date":"2020-05-26T10:12:23","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T14:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/faculty-hub\/?p=1204"},"modified":"2021-08-04T17:01:46","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T21:01:46","slug":"new-resource-for-dawson-faculty-teaching-with-moodle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www-chris.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/faculty-hub\/all-news\/new-resource-for-dawson-faculty-teaching-with-moodle\/","title":{"rendered":"New Resource for Dawson Faculty:  Teaching with Moodle!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A new resource is available to faculty.\u00a0It is an asynchronous, self-paced online course called \u201c<b>Teaching with Moodle<\/b>\u201d, which has been developed by Madeleine Bazerghi (Pedagogical Counsellor, OAD).<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/collegedawson.sharepoint.com\/sites\/OnlineTeachingandLearning\/SitePages\/Teach-Moodle.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here and use your Dawson login for registration information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<br style=\"clear:both;\"\/>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-CA\"><br \/>\nMoodle<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0allows teachers to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 upload files such as narrated PowerPoints, videos, jpegs, word, excel, pdfs;<br \/>\n\u2022 use the Chat and Forum features in order to communicate with students, possibly limiting the\u00a0quantity of emails you receive;<br \/>\n\u2022 engage students with wikis, workshops, glossaries, H5P integration, databases etc.;<br \/>\n\u2022 build a lesson using the \u201cbook\u201d feature, where students can navigate a lesson, page by page;<br \/>\n\u2022 obtain feedback from your students;<br \/>\n\u2022 poll your students;<br \/>\n\u2022 record short video or audio clips to supplement text-based content;<br \/>\n\u2022 check student learning with formative quizzes or assignments;<br \/>\n\u2022 create a bank of exam questions that can be shuffled and chosen at random so that every student\u00a0has a different exam;<br \/>\n\u2022 correct your exams;<br \/>\n\u2022 track student progress;<br \/>\n\u2022 provide feedback.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">Once you build a course in Moodle, the same course can be edited or re-used.\u00a0This asynchronous, self-paced, online course is designed to help you learn about Moodle, or refine your Moodle skills.
