It’s official! \u00a0The snow is melting (please??…), the days are getting longer, and the 2015 growing season is around the corner! \u00a0Join us at Dawson Gardens to celebrate with a host of events planned for the spring season.<\/p>\n

See the calendar for volunteering events–you can just show up!<\/p>\n

Otherwise, we have a few special events to promote. \u00a0First, join us for a fundraising indoor seedling workshop led by Tereska Gesing from Urban Seedling at Dawson. \u00a0From the description:<\/p>\n

Starting your own plants from seed is fun, fascinating and a great way to save money on plants for your garden. As well as getting a jump on the short Montreal growing season, start\u00ading seeds gives you access to growing a wide variety of unusual, new or heirloom plants that are not readily available at most garden centres or big box stores.
\nAt the end of the workshop, participants will receive their own tray of seeds they will have started during the workshop, a handout on seed-starting tips, as well as a package of seeds to start at a later date. There will be seeds, soil, lighting and other seed starting supplies available for purchase.<\/p>\n

Proceeds will go to support the 2015 planting year @ Dawson College. \u00a0Register here<\/a> to reserve your spot. \u00a0The cost is $20. \u00a0Contact Anna-Liisa Aunio at aaunio@dawsoncollege.qc.ca<\/a> for student rates and attendance.<\/p>\n
