Summer School 2020 Timetable & Registration Guide

*** Summer registration is over. However, for current Dawson students only, if you think you need a summer class, understand that there is very limited space and if you need to be placed on a wait list, please write to advsecretary@dawsoncollege.qc.ca.

*** Summer Registration:  If you know that you do not need a course for which you are registered for the summer semester, it is important that you fill in a course drop form in Omnivox under “my college services“.  The space that you will free up will allow us to call students from the wait list.  Thank you.

Are you a student currently registered in another college?

If you are a student currently registered in a DEC program or in Springboard to a DCS at another college, you may be able to register for up to two courses at Dawson this summer, if your college grants you permission to do so. This official permission from your college is called a commandite.

Dawson will accept commandites through the SRACQ Commandite virtuelle system, which your advisor has access to in order to send your information to us.

We will begin processing commandite requests as of Monday, April 8, 2020.

The deadline for Summer School commandite requests is June 9, 2020.

Step 1: To prepare for Summer School at Dawson, your home college must follow all seven mandatory items below using the Commandite virtuelle system :

  1. Fill in all of your correct contact information.
  2. Identify which one or two courses that you are being permitted to take. Two courses maximum.
  3. The priority of your commandite:
    • Priority A or Fin de programme: means the course(s) that you wish to take at Dawson this summer will allow you to graduate with your DEC in Summer 2020.
    • Priority B: that you need this course to advance in your regular DEC program in Fall.
    • Non-priority may also be indicated.
  4. If you are a Priority A student, the commandite information must include which section you wish to take. For example, 201-NYC-05 section 19002.  Please refer to the Summer school 2020 timetable button above to find correct course and section numbers.
  5. Your email address. If we do not have your correct email address, you will not receive your Omnivox access time, nor your in-person appointment time to register since commandite appointments will be sent by email only. If the email address is incorrect, you could miss your chance to register.
  6. Your advisor must extend the commandite permission to expire on August 6, 2020 so that, after both Summer School and Rattrapage registration, we may respond to your college through the system. All responses from Dawson will be sent by mid August.
  7. IMPORTANT –  Commandite students may only register for the courses approved by their home college and accepted by Dawson, prior to registration. Commandite students may only register for in-program courses (hors programme – HP – courses will be refused).

Step 2. Once your commandite is accepted, you must create your MyDawson Portal (Omnivox) account to be ready to go pay your course fees.

Once your commandite has been accepted by Dawson College, exceptionnaly this year, if space permirts, we will register and finalize you in your requested courses.  Once this is done by Dawson college, you will receive an email detailing the steps necessary to create your MyDawson Portal (Omnivox account) and asking you to go pay for your course fees.

All fees must be paid in full after receiving your email and can only be paid online in your Omnivox account.

Even Fin de programme commandite students must pay the $2 per course-hour tuition fee upon registration. Such students may be entitled to a refund towards the end of October 2020, subject to a final confirmation of their status by their home college. Please note that no refunds are granted to commandite students from private colleges.
